October begins our theme of “The Gift of Heritage”.  As Unitarian Universalists, we have inherited the values of freedom, reason, hope, and courage.  How do these values call us to examine the stories that we tell and the heroes that we honor?  We will take a closer look at undoing Columbus Day and replacing it with Indigenous Peoples’ Day while still recognizing Italian Americans and their legacy.  The heritage of our faith calls upon us to honor the stories that connect us.
