Our Shared Unitarian Universalist Value of Generosity calls us to these ways of being together:
We cultivate a spirit of gratitude and hope.
We covenant to freely and compassionately share our faith, presence, and resources.
Our generosity connects us to one another in relationships of interdependence and mutuality.
During yesterday’s (April 6) worship service, we practiced joy together. But we also were living into our value of Generosity together. Generosity was the #UULent word for the day.
As we created together, we shared of ourselves and were present to one another. We connected, bringing into our awareness the web of interdependence and mutuality.
We shared our faith by sharing what brings us joy, and offering that joy to be sung in our monthly hymn, “When the Spirit Says Do:”
Dance, sing, love, craft, laugh, clap, feel, smile, rise, pup(py), lift, fly, drink, play, hug, breathe, cruise, tap, write, cry, grow, float, drum, jump, pray, rock!
It is such a blessing to lead this congregation! I have so much gratitude for all of you and your enthusiasm for practicing joy together. The finger paintings were amazing. I feel that joy in my abdomen as a warm tingling feeling around my rib cage. Where and how do you feel the joy we experienced yesterday?
Keep practicing…
