The word worship comes from an old word meaning “worth-ship”—which means giving value to the things that matter most. In a UU service, we focus on values like love, compassion, justice, and wisdom. Ultimately, worship is a way for UUs to encounter something greater than ourselves. It is designed to inspire us to go out into the world and act with more love and justice.  At UUCL, our motto is Love + Connection = Transformation.  The process of transformation is why we gather together for worship.

Our Worship Services are weekly reflections that weave together our own thoughts and experiences with music, beauty, poetry, and words that both comfort and challenge. Our programs for all ages inspire us, and awaken us to our capacities to make a difference in our own lives and in the world.

We are inspired not just by many different sources, including sacred and secular texts, but by the people with whom we journey: a congregation of diverse and spirited Unitarian Universalists.
