During my time in seminary I have often heard the phrase, “the spiritual is the political.” One of my professors, Dr. Pamela Lightsey, wrote: “humanity is interconnected. This means, I have a responsibility to the world to agitate for justice; I also have a responsibility not to lose my love for the human soul and human dignity in the midst of that work.” Join us this Sunday for special guest and local politician Bonnie Patterson-James as she explores interdependence with us as they pertain to the overlapping spiritual and political realms.
