Choosing Hope: Sacred Reading This Sunday’s worship service will engage us in the spiritual practice of sacred reading. Many religions incorporate some form of sacred reading into their traditions. It is a practice that allows us to slow down and listen to where the text is taking us, as well as ask, “how is my inner wisdom speaking to me through the text?” It’s a cocreative process! Texts will be provided for you (including our hymnals), but you can bring your own–any text that you consider inspiring, from sacred to secular pieces–poetry, song lyrics, novels, etc. We will be searching for what inspires us to choose hope! Consider bringing a journal. There will be a time for us to share our insights with one another at the end of the service as a way to continue to support and encourage one another. Keep hope alive! Keep hope alive!
