11:00 a.m. – Children’s Religious Exploration(exploración religiosa para niños)
Children of all ages are invited to join us! We start in the sanctuary with the adults, then before the sermon we head over to the children’s classroom. We have discussion to build community and explore the ideas brought up in the worship service. We also have stories, games, arts and crafts and other activities to have fun and learn together.
11:00 a.m. – Worship Service (servicio de adoración)
Building Belonging: Maintenance and Repair In honor of Universalism Day (September 30), we will explore how to maintain and repair the relationships that have built our community through a Universalist theological lens. We will do this creatively, through stories about vampires. You read that right. What would a Universalist vampire story look like and what can it teach us about healing, repairing, and sustaining relationships? Come join us for fun and creativity on this last Sunday of September!
If you would like to do some “prep work” for this worship service, watch the 1932 movie “Vampyr.” This entertaining and artistically rendered movie is rooted in traditional, dualistic Christian theology which posits that there is a heaven and hell, God and “The Prince of Darkness,” good and evil, and it is what prompted Heather to ask: what would it look like if it was rooted in a Universalist theology instead?
AFTER SUNDAY SERVICE:
después del servicio
ATTENTION all current and prospective Worship Associates! We will meet on Sunday, September 28th after worship and snacks to regroup, talk about what has worked and what hasn’t this past year, to ask and answer questions, and to orient new people who want to become worship associates.
