Hello from Baltimore as we wrap up our time here. It has been a wonderful week of learning, community, and inspiration. The Ware Lecture on Saturday night was presented by Imara Jones, a political journalist and transgender activist. Her analysis of our current political situation is critically important to our understanding of the rise of Christian Nationalism and authoritarianism and the action we take to get our democracy back and protect justice with Love at the center. Essentially, all of this is rooted in a campaign against trans people, who are only 1% of the population. But the manipulation of the citizens of this country to vote for the people who want to take power away from us has all been wrapped around anti-trans policy and the violence towards and invisibilizing of trans people.
