11:00 a.m. – Worship Service

The Importance of Holding up the Buried Parts of Our History– Why dig up the past? Because we are not disconnected from it. Because the events of the past have determined our current reality. That means that many people still suffer oppression in our current cultural, political, and social systems that were built in the past, rooted in white supremacy. This Sunday, we will hear reflections from our UUCL Book Group as they reveal their learnings from Isabel Wilkerson’s book, Caste. They will share their emotional responses, the most meaningful content that was dug up and presented, and how they think that we, as Unitarian Universalists, can move into the future to make change and bring more hope for all of us to get free.
