What can we do in these moments that hold so much tension?
We can breathe. We can listen to the breath that sustains us. Notice the breath moving in and out– it does it all on its own. We are being breathed by life. May we be grateful.
We can touch the Earth– dig our feet into it, work our hands into it. We can know that it is always here for us, its natural cycles always carrying us through life. May we be grateful.
We can know that “The Great Turning” is indeed that– great. Greater than we know. And it will require more hope, more love, and more joy. May we be grateful to be a part of this work.
We can be here for one another. This UUCL community has thrived during this pandemic. We will continue to do so, together.
And we can sing. Sing like no one’s listening. Or sing like they are, and your voice is an offering of hope. Here’s a couple of our favorite songs in times like these:
And, in case you missed it, here’s an Election Day Prayer (that is still relevant as we move through this) from the UUA’s President, the Rev. Susan Frederick Gray:
Be well. Take care of yourself. Take care of one another and together, we will find more love for the world.
